The SPRINGCON range of dynamic clamping terminal blocks from Hylec-APL (Hylec Components and Andromeda Products Limited) provide a direct replacement to traditional screw type terminals, saving time in wiring applications by using an innovative cam clamp system to secure a stranded or solid core wire. SPRINGCON connectors create a stable powerfully clamped termination in 40% less time that it takes to secure a screwed terminal, and without the use of any fixing tools. The mechanism also isolates the terminals externally, improving safety in test, maintenance and service situations.
The cam clamping action auto adjusts to the size of the conductor being terminated and removes any of the torsional stress and uneven pressure that can be caused by the tightening of a screw connector, an action which can weaken and damage the PCB mounting connection. The integrity of the connection is also far greater than that offered by alternative basic spring type connectors, while the speed and accuracy with which termination is achieved makes traditional screwed termination feel extremely slow and unnecessarily fiddly.
SPRINGCON connectors are available in 39 different configurations including various fixed and pluggable options with single and double pole connection, a variety of single and double entry points on the front and top of the terminal blocks, including angled entry variations canted at 60 degrees. Standard items are either black, grey, or green but a range of additional colours is also available including red, blue and yellow to enhance the appearance of visible connections. The housings are modular so colours can be mixed and matched. Various forms of printed markings are also available for bespoke wiring instructions.

Quality is extremely high as the entire range is manufactured in Germany by respected producer RIA CONNECT; the body of the terminal is manufactured from flame resistant, self-extinguishing Polyamide, the levers are polyoxymethylene (POM) thermoplastic material, the spring clamp mechanism is stainless chrome molybdenum steel and the contactors are tin-coated high copper content alloy. The tin coating is designed to ensure a gas-tight seal when soldered onto the PCB.
Conductors from 0.08mm2 up to 2.5mm2 can be accommodated and all variations meet UL, CSV worldwide safety and manufacturing certification standards.
